Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Wear gloves
• Wear safety goggles/face shield
• Wear dust mask/respirator
• Wear steel-toed boots
• Wear protective clothing

Work Area Inspection

• Clear walkways free of obstacles
• Check for hazards (sharp objects, spills, etc.)
• Equipment in proper working condition
• Adequate ventilation in work area

Safe Work Practices

• Proper lifting techniques used
• Hygiene practices followed (wash hands after handling compost)
• No eating or drinking in compost area
• Proper use of tools and equipment

Emergency Preparedness

• First aid kit available and accessible
• Know emergency exits and procedures
• Fire extinguishers available
• Report any unsafe conditions
