Multi-Unit Building Smart Meter Consent Agreement

Purpose

The purpose of this Agreement is to grant consent for the installation and operation of a smart meter system (“Smart Meter”) within the above-listed multi-unit building and unit in order to monitor energy usage for billing and/or energy management purposes.

Consent

  1. Resident/Tenant acknowledges and understands that a Smart Meter will be installed and operated to monitor utility consumption in the specified unit.
  2. Owner/Manager ensures that installation and operation of the Smart Meter will comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  3. The data collected by the Smart Meter shall be used solely for utility metering, billing, management, and maintenance purposes.
  4. Resident/Tenant has been informed of the function and purpose of the Smart Meter system.

Data Privacy and Security

All data collected from the Smart Meter will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Reasonable measures will be taken to protect the data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

Duration of Consent

This Agreement will remain in effect for the duration of the Resident/Tenant’s occupancy at the listed unit, unless revoked in writing by either party, subject to applicable laws and lease terms.
