General Safety

• Working smoke detectors on each floor
• Carbon monoxide detector
• Fire extinguishers accessible and functional
• Escape routes posted and known by all household members
• First aid kit stocked and accessible

Kitchen

• Knives and sharp objects stored securely
• Cleaning supplies stored out of reach
• No tripping hazards on the floor

Bedrooms & Living Areas

• Windows can open and are secured with locks/screens
• Electrical outlets covered (if required)
• No exposed cords or wires

Medication & Hazardous Items

• Medications locked away
• Alcohol and firearms stored in locked areas
• Toxic substances secured

Outdoor Areas

• Fencing/gates secure
• Pools/hot tubs covered and locked if present
• No dangerous tools accessible to children
