Pharmaceutical Lab Physical Security Checklist

1. Access Control

Is access to the facility restricted to authorized personnel only?
Are visitor logs maintained and properly managed?
Are all entry/exit points monitored (doors, windows, emergency exits)?

2. Surveillance

Are CCTV cameras installed to cover critical areas?
Is video footage retained for an appropriate period?
Are surveillance systems regularly maintained and tested?

3. Intrusion Detection

Are intrusion alarms installed and operational?
Are alarm systems tested routinely?

4. Physical Barriers

Are perimeter fences/gates in good condition?
Are locks and security hardware functional?
Are sensitive storage areas (chemical/drug storage) secured?

5. Emergency Preparedness

Are emergency exits clearly marked and unobstructed?
Are emergency response procedures in place and up-to-date?

6. Personnel Security

Are background checks conducted for all staff?
Are security training programs provided for employees?
