Forensic Science Lab Safety Pledge

I acknowledge the importance of safety procedures and agree to abide by the following rules while participating in forensic science laboratory activities:

• I will follow all safety instructions and procedures provided by my instructor at all times.
• I will wear required personal protective equipment when in the laboratory.
• I will not eat, drink, or bring food into the lab environment.
• I will report any accidents, spills, or injuries immediately to the instructor.
• I will know the location and use of safety equipment including eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and safety showers.
• I will handle all chemicals, tools, and specimens responsibly and with care.
• I will never work alone in the laboratory.
• I will keep my workspace clean and organized and properly dispose of waste.
• I will not engage in horseplay or other unsafe behavior.

I understand that failure to adhere to these rules may result in my removal from laboratory activities.
